Pecan Praline Cookies

So my grandmother is an AMAZING cook. This is a recipe that a good friend of hers passed to her, and she passed it right on to me.

These are so easy to make, and are sure to be a hit with anyone who tastes them! :) We made these a couple weekends back and took them to a friends house to watch the MSU vs. LSU football game and everyone LOVED them!

Sadly I don't have step by step pictures, but the recipe is very straightforward and easy to follow.

  • Graham Crackers
  • 1 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Powdered sugar
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Line a large cookie sheet with Graham Crackers (make sure the cookie sheet has edges or the caramel goodness will run off into your oven)
  3. Mix butter and light brown sugar in a small sauce pan, bring to a rolling boil. Once the mixture has reached a boil stir continuously for 2 MINUTES (make sure only to leave it boiling and on the heat for 2 minutes or your caramel will not solidify and stay very sticky.
  4. Pour the sugar mixture over the graham crackers and make sure it covers it all completely.
  5. Top with chopped pecans.
  6. Place in the oven for 10 minutes.
  7. Let cool and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
  8. Once it is completely cool remove cookies (probably will be one giant cookie) and break into small pieces.
  9. ENJOY the delicious fruits of your labor! :)
**Ben and I gathered our own pecans from a tree in his backyard and spent hours cracking the pecans for the cookies we made....took forever, but to us the cookies just seemed that much better. :)

Let me know what you think!
