Life Lately

So Life Lately--- Ben and I have been very busy and finally were able to just have an entire day away from Starkville with each other. We went to one of my all time favorite cities--Birmingham, AL, to celebrate our first Valentines Day together. It was wonderful.

We went to the Cheesecake Factory for lunch, and it was delicious as always. For the afternoon we wandered through furniture shops in downtown Homewood and stopped at my favorite coffee shop (O'Henry's) for a little afternoon brew.

I was able to show Ben where I worked a few summers ago when I was in Birmingham and it was really sweet to reminisce on that time.

We went to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen and really just enjoyed each others company. We finished out trip with a visit to the Vulcan. :) Ben is all about visiting unique local spots, especially if they have any history behind them at all.

Ben and I were invited to go and watch a grapevine be pruned by someone by the family that disciples us. It was to serve as a picture of the passage John 15 when Jesus is talking about how He is the vine and we are the branches.

It was so amazing to see this sweet picture, and to see that unless the vines are pruned they simply cannot produce "much fruit" for the Vine dresser. I would challenge everyone to go read John 15 in light of these images.

Also we were able to enjoy this beautiful sunset in Westpoint. Oh how creation cried out the glory of the Lord. :)

Ben and I are officially under 100 days on the countdown to our big day---and boy are we getting ready. Wedding planning is such a special time and engagement has been an amazing time of refinement and preparation for us both. However, we are very ready to be Mr. and Mrs. Cox and begin our life as a married couple...92 Days from today.

I have to brag a little on my husband-to-be, he is just SO STINKIN' TALENTED! We are working on opening an Etsy Shop for all of his amazing creations to be showcased, but for now just enjoy them here on the blog. This is his most recent creation...Isn't it adorable?

He is also working on our adorable Rehearsal Dinner Invitations, and a Vintage Princess inspired Birthday Invitation for a friend's adorable little girl who will be 1 in just a few months!!

I have finished round one of Thank You notes! What do you think? Each is hand stamped and painted. :)

Last but certainly not least---WE BOUGHT A TV! This is a purchase we have discussed and thought about for months. And finally we found amazing deal and bought a pretty equally amazing TV. We are kinda obsessed, and are entertaining giving it a name...we just really love it.

So this is Life Lately. Mine and Ben's parents are coming in town for our His and Her shower tomorrow so we are really looking forward to spending some time with our families this weekend.

What do you have planned for this weekend?

Make the most of every minute dear ones!
